Hello all, it has been much too long since we've contributed to the blog, so there is a lot to catch up on...
First of all, we are extremely grateful to hear Scott is home and improving daily. And that G'ma's MRI was uneventful. We continue to wish you all good health!
As usual, we are staying busy. I've been conducting a lot more trainings for work. I spent 3 days in Toledo assisting the local rep with the Sears "Road Show" mid-July. Each day consists of six 45-minute sessions. During each session, we cover the top 2-3 features/benefits of nine different products. It's A LOT of information to cover in such a short period of time, so it takes a lot of practice. Last week I spent 4 days doing the same training for the Columbus market and next week I'll be in Cincinnati. All in all, I will end up giving the presentation over 40 times. It's gotten so bad, I've found myself dreaming about the presentation - yikes!
It hasn't been all work...we were able to get away the last weekend in July to visit Amish Country (Holmes County, Ohio). We met my Aunt Chris and Uncle Rich, who drove in from Buffalo, NY. They've been staying in the area for the past couple of years so my Uncle can attend the local, annual motorcycle rally. I did a ton of research online and found the cutest cabin for the four of us to stay in. The owners are not Amish but the husband designed and built the cabins and his construction workers are all Amish. The craftsmanship was incredible! And it was a very reasonable rate - only $135/night for 3 bedrooms, one bath, a living room, and a full kitchen. We also enjoyed the private fire pit two of the nights we were there - even cooked over the open fire one night. Eric and I both want to visit again. It was a wonderful, relaxing weekend - just the R&R we needed.
Eric has been staying busy at the restaurant. He's been training more and more - which is good because it provides a new challenge and it pays better! His ankle has healed enough that he's playing basketball again once a week. He's glad to be back at it and hopes to work back up to two days a week soon.
Yesterday we celebrated Mozart's birthday (he's 2 now!). First Eric and I went to breakfast and ran a couple errands, then we picked him up and took him to Petsmart to pick out a new cushion for his bed and new toys (he picked a Kong ball and a tug toy). Then we took him to "Wash Your Dog" where we gave him a bath. It's a really neat place that gives you all the necessary equipment to bathe your pet and they clean up the mess. We ended the day playing ball with him in the back yard. He was pretty pooped after that! :)
Today, I worked until 2pm then we strolled around a local art fair. It was really hot - our first real heat wave of the summer - it got up to 93 degrees. If there hadn't been shade or a breeze, it might have felt like Florida!
Well, that's about all from the Dayton area...going to get the grill read for steaks now, ciao!

Great to hear from you. Sounds like you are really learning your way around Ohio, huh?
